Patanjali Divya Yoga & Pranayama meditation

Rajib Saini is a beautifully trained and newly arrived yogi to our fair shores. Under the master guidance of the Himalaya yogi Swami Ramdev ji, Raj learned the ancient technique of breathing known as Pranayama, and the principal practices of Patanjali Yoga. Raj has since taught these technique to many, and is pleased to be in Australia to pass these powerful life tools on to others.

Yoga is available to everyone. Through the understanding and regular practice of simple techniques, many benefits may be experienced.


INTRODUCTION

Exponent of yoga, whose yoga sutras outline the principles of the yogic path divided into eight steps….
 
  • Yama:  moral conduct
  • Niyama:  religious observances
  • Asana:  right posture to still the restlessness of the body
  • Pranayama:  control of prana, subtle life currents
  • Pratyahara: interiorization
  • Dharna: concentration
  • Dhyana: meditation
  • Samadhi: superconscious experience


PRANAYAMA (CONSCIOUS CONTROL OF PRANA)

The creative vibration or energy that activates and sustains life in the body. The yoga science of pranayama is the direct way to consciously disconnect the mind from life functions and sensory perceptions that tie man to body consciousness. Pranayama thus frees man’s consciousness to commune with God. Pranayama is the highest yogic method for attaining the divine union.


BHASTRIKA

Should be performed by over 12 years of age
Benefits:
Assists in the amelioration of illnesses such as colds/flu, allergies, asthma, respiratory diseases. Lungs strengthen and the head and heart oxygenate.
Symptoms of diseases of the throat, including conditions of the tonsils and thyroid can be reduced. Supports blood purification and systemic detox. Stabilizes prana and calms mind. Helps the upward journey of prana from Muladhar Chakra (Coccygeal) to Sahasrar Chakra (cerebral gland) and helpful in circulation of kundalini, a walking cosmic energy.


KAPAL BHATI

KAPAL MEANS ‘FOREHEAD’ AND BHATI MEANS ‘LIGHT’
Start with 3-5 minutes and gradually increase in the beginning. You may or may not feel some pain in the back or in the abdomen, but after further practice it goes away.
Benefits:
Face become attractive and lustrous
  1. Ameliorates conditions such as asthma, respiratory troubles, allergies, and sinus problems.
  2. Obesity, diabetes, flatulence, constipation, acidity, kidney problem and prostate glands may be reduced.
  3. Chakras are purified from coccyx to cerebrum and with regular practice, beecome filled with cosmic energy.
NOTE: Not for pregnant women


ANULOM VILOM PRANAYAMA

This pranayama should be done for 10 -15 minutes
Benefits:
May ameliorates conditions such as High Blood Pressure, Heart Blockage, Acidity, high sinual fluid, Parkinsons, Paralysis, Neural related problems, Migraine pain, asthma, sinus, depression, rheumatism, and gout-diseases pertaining to urinary and reproductive organs.
Pregnant women can do this with the supervision of an experienced teacher. It is very beneficial for the growth of the baby.
NOTE: if practiced more than 200 – 350 times a day then kundalini shakti awakes.
